A new trailer has arrived for I Play Rocky, the true story behind how Sylvester Stallone fought to bring one of cinema’s most iconic underdog characters to life. Starring Anthony Ippolito as Stallone, the film follows an aspiring actor who refuses to give up on his dream, even when the odds are stacked against him.
Directed by Academy Award winner Peter Farrelly (Green Book) and written by Peter Gamble, I Play Rocky revisits the moment Stallone bet everything on himself. He believed he was meant not only to write Rocky, but also to play its determined boxer, Rocky Balboa. Despite facing rejection at every turn, Stallone stood firm on his decision to star in the film, risking everything for a chance to tell his story his way.
