A secret mission beneath enemy lines could change the course of the First World War. Well Go USA Entertainment is bringing The War Below to digital platforms on November 10, giving audiences a chance to experience the gripping wartime drama inspired by the dangerous underground operations of the Great War.
Set during World War I in the aftermath of the devastating Battle of the Somme, The War Below follows an extraordinary plan devised by the Allies to break through the German front line. With conventional attacks proving costly, a group of civilian tunnelers known as the Clay Kickers is recruited for a high-risk mission: dig beneath No Man’s Land and plant a massive bomb directly under German trenches.

A Dangerous Mission Beneath No Man’s Land
The operation is anything but straightforward. Working in cramped underground tunnels, the men must navigate the dangers of enemy territory while racing against a strict four-week deadline. Above ground, they face resistance from army generals who question the plan and the civilians tasked with carrying it out.
As zero hour approaches, the pressure mounts. The tunnelers are no ordinary soldiers, but the success of their mission could have consequences far beyond their own survival. With the lives of millions potentially hanging in the balance, the Clay Kickers must find a way to complete their assignment before time runs out.
Directed by J.P. Watts, The War Below highlights a lesser-known aspect of the First World War, where courage and determination were tested not only on the battlefield but also deep beneath it.
An Ensemble Cast Brings the Story to Life
The film stars Sam Hazeldine, Tom Goodman-Hill, Kris Hitchen, Andrew Scarborough, Anna Maguire, Elliot J. Langridge, Joseph Steyne, Sam Clemmett, Sonny A. Serkis, and Douglas Reith.
Through its combination of historical warfare, tense underground operations, and an against-the-odds mission, The War Below tells the story of ordinary people thrust into an extraordinary fight.
