A mother’s search for a new life pulls her family into the orbit of a mysterious commune in The Liberation, a 2026 drama-thriller directed by Guy Nattiv.
Rita Cooper (Carrie Coon), a woman struggling with the weight of her past, becomes captivated by a charismatic spiritual leader known as the Leader (Lily James). Leaving her family behind, Rita joins the all-female Harmonia commune, believing it offers the chance to start over.
When Rita’s daughters, Ella (Bella Ramsey) and Jo (Odessa Young), arrive in an effort to bring her home, they find themselves drawn into the group’s seductive world. As they become entangled in the Leader’s psychological manipulation, the sisters face a difficult choice: rescue their mother or risk losing themselves to the commune.
