Steven Spielberg’s A.I. Artificial Intelligence makes its UK 4K Ultra HD debut on December 14, 2026, with a standard edition and a collectible SteelBook.
This Christmas, audiences can revisit Spielberg’s 2001 science-fiction film in 4K resolution with high dynamic range (HDR). Inspired by Brian Aldiss’s short story Super-Toys Last All Summer Long, the film began as a long-running project for Stanley Kubrick. Spielberg took over after Kubrick’s death in 1999, bringing the story of a robot boy who longs to become human to the screen.

A Futuristic Pinocchio Story
In the not-so-distant future, David is a robot capable of experiencing human emotions, including an unwavering love for his “mother,” Monica. She and her husband adopt him while their biological son remains in cryo-stasis, suffering from an incurable illness.
David’s life changes when the couple’s son returns home after being cured. Suddenly, the robot boy’s place in the family is uncertain.
The film stars Haley Joel Osment, Jude Law, Frances O’Connor, Brendan Gleeson and William Hurt. Its visual effects earned an Oscar nomination, as did John Williams’s score.
