The sun is down. The boat is dead. There’s no cell service. And someone is watching from the shore. That is the terrifying setup for RIVER, a new slasher horror film from writer-director Joshua Giuliano, arriving in theatres this January.
Starring Jane Levy (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day) and Max Mattern, the film follows three estranged siblings who reunite after their father’s death for a trip to scatter his ashes at his favorite spot on a remote river. When their boat becomes stranded, their family outing turns into a fight for survival as a masked killer, known as The Man, begins hunting them.

The film is produced by Steven Schneider through Spooky Pictures, and Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund through Eat The Cat. Schneider is known for his work on the Insidious franchise and Split, while Antosca created the Cape Fear series.
Following a screening in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto International Film Festival, RIVER was acquired by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Atomic Monster.
