Some stories are better left unheard. In the horror thriller Jimmy, a podcast listener discovers that tuning in to the wrong true-crime story could put a target on your back. With the chilling tagline “Don’t Press Play,” the film brings a supernatural twist to the world of true-crime podcasts.
After the murder of her childhood friend, Dilara returns to her hometown and reconnects with the people she left behind. But the reunion takes a disturbing turn when she begins to suspect that she and her old friends are being hunted through a haunted true-crime podcast. The terrifying rumour surrounding the show is simple: once you listen, you meet the killer.
As fear spreads through the group, Dilara must confront the possibility that the podcast is connected to the murder and that none of them may be safe. Blending supernatural horror with thriller elements, Jimmy taps into the popularity of true-crime storytelling and asks what happens when a frightening tale refuses to stay inside your headphones.
