A Gangster’s Reputation Begins to Crumble

Bronson stars as George “Machine Gun” Kelly, a bank robber whose fearsome reputation masks deep insecurity. With his partner, Florence “Flo” Becker (Susan Cabot), pushing him toward increasingly daring crimes, Kelly becomes trapped in a cycle of violence and desperation.

When the gang’s activities escalate from bank robbery to kidnapping, the pressure intensifies. As the law closes in and his crew begins to fracture, Kelly’s carefully built image of a fearless outlaw starts to fall apart.

Directed and produced by Corman, the film explores the ambition and anxiety behind its central criminal figure. Cabot co-stars as Flo Becker, while Morey Amsterdam plays Michael Fandango, a criminal whose fortunes become tied to Kelly’s increasingly dangerous schemes.
