What happens when you finally meet your favourite celebrity, only to discover that living with your idol is a lot less glamorous than you imagined? That’s the predicament at the heart of the upcoming comedy from writer-director Jason Laurits, starring Saturday Night Live alum Rachel Dratch and Jack Plotnick.
Lonely Antoinette Funk has spent much of her life looking for a little happiness, and she thinks her luck has finally changed when her favourite game-show personality, Blake de Troy, crashes into the Florida swamps near her home.
For Antoinette, it feels like a dream come true. For Blake, however, the situation looks a lot more like a kidnapping.
Things take an unexpected turn when Blake discovers that being held captive isn’t quite as terrible as he imagined. With Antoinette waiting on him hand and foot, he quickly settles into the arrangement and begins taking advantage of her generosity. Before long, the celebrity she once adored has become an obnoxious houseguest who overstays his welcome.
